Long Beach Street Circuit, USA: Lamborghini’s multiple championship-winning Huracan brought home more points from the third round of North America’s ultra-competitive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with another strong performance at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, in California.

The demands of the tight and bumpy Long Beach street circuit could not be in more stark contrast to those of the Daytona International Speedway, where Forte’s Loris Spinelli and Misha Goikhberg raced their #78 GTD car for the first time. Despite this the Lamborghini proved to be competitive and tackled the bay-side circuit showing a solid performance.

Misha Goikhberg drove the opening stint and handed over to Loris Spinelli as he reached his minimum mandatory drive time after 37 of the 100 minutes. Running side-by-side with the competitor cars, the 2022 Lamborghini Supertrofeo champion ran in contention for the rest of the race and finished seventh.

The result put the duo ninth in the GTD points standings with Forte Racing also ninth in the Teams’ standings.

“Our debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is a shining example of the continuing potential of the Huracan in one of the world’s most prestigious sportscar championship. Our team endured a tough day and probably deserved a top-5 finish, you will have those kinds of days in motorsport. Now we move to Laguna Seca, where we’re excited to race and fight for our first podium” says Head of Forte Racing Shane Seneviratne.

Our GT3 drivers will be on track at the Motul Course De Monterey, scheduled for May. 12 - 14 in Laguna Seca, CA.
