US RaceTronics delivers in Denver

ENVER, Colorado - The Streets of Denver were roaring to the sounds of the Champ Car Atlantic Series this past weekend. In what turned out to be an eventful race, complete with flipping cars, US RaceTronics and driver David Martinez (#4 Sub-Hub) would once again prove that they are a consistent force to reckon with. Qualifying had mixed results with the team qualifying with the third best time on Friday and fifteenth for Saturday’s qualifying session.

Saturday’s qualifying, with its numerous Yellow Flags, a long Red Flag, and Traffic, all combined to hamper the team and relegate Martinez to near the back of the field. Martinez would go on to start the race on Sunday fifteenth. The race was eventful and begun with an incident that saw Alex Sperafico slam into the wall after making contact with Steve Ott on the first lap. The result was a full course Yellow Flag.

Fellow drivers Ryan Lewis, Jonathan Bomarito were also caught up in the incident and had to return to the Pits for repairs. Later on in the race James Davison was involved in an incident that saw his car flip over and slide upside down the racetrack after making contact with Tim Bridgman. Davison walked away from the incident, shaken. With all the action going on the track, Martinez was able to stay out of trouble and drive a smart race. Improving his times and positions throughout the duration of the race, Martinez was able to make it to the end of the race and finish in tenth.

This makes 7 out of 10 races in which Martinez has finished tenth or better. To date, Martinez is the only driver, in the Champ Car Atlantic Series, who has completed every single lap this year (358 Laps). When asked to comment on this weekend’s performance Team Owner Shane Seneviratne stated, “I am glad to be back, competing in the Series again with David. Overall we had a decent weekend. We qualified well in our first Qualifying session went a bit backwards during our second Qualifying session, and the Red Flags and Traffic didn’t help the situation either.

Despite all that David once again managed to give us a great result”. Seneviratne added, “ With Sub-Hub aboard as our sponsor this weekend we wanted to make sure we gave them a great result and a great time” The team will be back in 2 weeks to complete Round 11 at the Champ Car Grand Prix of Montreal at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on August 25-27 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
