Championship Powered by Mazda the US RaceTronics squad began preparations for the 2007 season. With little time to rest in such a competitive series US RaceTronics owner Shane Senerviratne began discussions with potential drivers for the newly named 2007 Cooper Tires Presents The Champ Car Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda season. Senerviratne, along with other USRT team members also had some unfinished housecleaning to do as well as the Buttonwillow headquarters of the team still was undergoing construction at the beginning of the 2006 season. “We are undergoing negotiations with several potential drivers about 2007. We are expecting to announce our driver plans before the end of the year and are really looking forward to the 2007 season”, states Senerviratne. He goes on to describe the 2006 season in don terms. “With 2006 we constantly had to stretch our budgets and did not have a lot of the resources many teams had so what we accomplished feels that much better.
