One Last 2006 Hurrah for US RaceTronics & Martinez

Championship Powered by Mazda Season concluded this weekend at the Gehl Champ Car Atlantic Championship Finale at Road America. While most of the attention has been focused on the season long Championship battle between Simon Pagenaud (#15 Team Australia/Location U/Cons. Gen. Vienne) and Graham Rahal (#18 Gehl Company)the other notable story this season has been the dogged persistence of US RaceTronics' driver David Martinez (#4 Sub-Hub.

The US RaceTronics squad has struggled all season for adequate funding and even had to miss a couple of races while Martinez continued to race with Bite Racing. Despite the challenges and seemingly endless obstacles Martinez continues to be fifth in the Championship standings (166) only 87 out of first. Also, Martinez and US RaceTronics continue to be the only driver and team to complete every lap of every race this season, which is an amazing feat in this ultra-competitive series.

This weekend the team is looking to preserve that streak and finish strong. Team Owner Shane Senerviratne continues to be optimistic in the Team and in David's performance and hopes to finish the season strongly. “I am excited to be back at Road America and despite the struggles we've add all year, I am really looking forward to finishing the season strongly", comments Senerviratne. He also adds, “The crew and David have all performed so well this year and this weekend we welcome back Peter Jacobs who will add to our efforts"
